Another memorable sequence is the energetic “Trip a Little Light Fantastic,” with Miranda demonstrating why he’s such a force. Marshall, who gave us the sensational “Chicago,” knows how to make a toe-tapping crowd pleaser for the big screen, and gives this film a Broadway musical feel that is refreshingly disconnected from anything that is contemporary.
